Hole 1 - Par 4

A wonderful opening Hole with an overhanging tree guiding you to favour the left hand side of a sloping fairway.
This allows for a mid to short iron into a large two-tiered green.

Hole 2 - Par 4

A slight dogleg right with a fairway bunker left and a tree lined stream down the right guarding a wide undulating fairway.
Two bunkers left, a solitary willow and tall pines will bear testimony to your efforts on the testing green.

Hole 3 - Par 3

A picturesque Par 3 that requires a long carry over a rocky tree lined river bed to a boomerang shaped green framed by three highly visible bunkers.
Careful attention to pin placements is required as there will be many challenges if the ball is in the wrong location on the green.

Hole 4 - Par 4

Length off the tee will dictate the degree of difficulty.
Hazard left and reeds right are there to catch the really wayward shots and a fairway bunker and thickets left and right narrow the perspective. The second shot is to a green that slopes uphill from front to back.

Hole 5 - Par 4

The splendour of the Stellenbosch mountain range forms the backdrop to the Par 4, 5th.
The array of bunkers successfully threaded off the tee leaves a short second to an elevated green flanked by large bunkers.

Hole 6 - Par 5

A magnificent Par 5 made special by a dam and avenues of pines as a backdrop.
The fairway curves, first left and then right alongside the dam, with grassy mounds and bunkers adding to the interest. The green is found only after negotiating cleverly placed grassy swales.

Hole 7 - Par 4

A flat classic Par 4 with a fairway narrowed by bunkers either side of it.
Out of bounds left, will lead to aiming right and this leaves a long second to a sloping long but narrow green with front and back bunkers.

Hole 8 - Par 5

The tee shot is blind but carefully placed bunkers show the path to be followed.
At the landing area, the fairway slopes steeply downhill and left. Six bunkers guard the green. This is a high risk, high reward Hole for long hitters.

Hole 9 - Par 3

This short Par 3 has water to be carried at the front and avoided to the right.
A solitary bunker and a thicket of wild olive trees are on the left to catch those too cautious. The green sits diagonally to the tee and slopes severely uphill from front to back.

Hole 10 - Par 4

This Hole has a severe dogleg left and the ideal shot has to hug the right side of the fairway.
The fairway slopes steeply uphill to a large, yet narrow green. Pine trees to the left of the green will interfere if the tee shot is too short or too far left.

Hole 11 - Par 4

An avenue of trees and vines make this Hole seemingly narrow in fact there is plenty of space in the landing area.
The second shot is played into decidedly the most difficult green on the De Zalze Golf Course.

Hole 12 - Par 3

Playing into the prevailing wind this long Par 4 has only one fairway bunker, and none around the green.
Play a confident golf shot into this narrow, elevated green.

Hole 13 - Par 4

Without doubt this is the feature Hole on the De Zalze Golf Course.
A boardwalk leads to a selection of tees in the heart of a dam. The Hole doglegs left around the dam and depending on the tee shot crossing the dam will result in a very short second.

Hole 14 - Par 5

An elevated tee allows views over a mighty central bunker flanked by fairway either side.
Tangerine trees line the right hand path and a high dam wall the left. The elevated green is guarded by huge bunkers.

Hole 15 - Par 4

Once again an elevated tee allows views of the entire Hole.
Here pines and orchards create a narrow path to a very straight Hole. From the fairway the only difficulty visible at the green is the large bunker on the right.

Hole 16 - Par 3

The row of trees down the left marks the out of bounds line.
Although only the bunker is visible off the fairway the green is well protected by two grass swales on the left.

Hole 17 - Par 5

Perhaps one of the toughest yet memorable Par 5’s you will ever play.
A tree lined fairway with mountain backdrops creates a painting, with the focal point being a central bunker complex. The fairway straightens to a river crossing that has to be carried to an elevated green.

Hole 18 - Par 4

There are several tee options on this delightful short Par 4.
From the highest tee the challenge is immediately visible. The careful tee shot is short of the river leaving a mid to short iron to the green.
