Rovos Rail has designed a delightful 9 day Golf Safari to entertain the most discerning player. At all venues, there are optional excursions for the entertainment of non-playing guests. This special journey commences in Pretoria and travels east towards the spectacular Drakensberg escarpment en route to Nelspruit. Play at Leopard's Creek or enjoy a game drive in the world famous Kruger Park followed by shopping and lunch at Casterbridge near White River.
Tee off at the Royal Swazi Golf Club, near Manzini in Swaziland, while non-golfers visit the Mlilwane Game Reserve, Houses of Parliament and the Swazi Candle Factory. Then it's on to Zululand for game viewing in the Hluhluwe Game Reserve and the St. Lucia Estuary.
Play in one of South Africa's finest courses, the Durban Beechwood Country Club, while non-playing guests enjoy a city tour of Durban followed by lunch at the Golf Club. In the foothills of the imposing Drakensberg Mountains 18-holes await at the Champagne Sports Resort, with a guided tour of the Battlefields a further highlight for non-golfers.
Relax as the train travels north towards the magnificent resort of Sun City in the Pilanesberg Mountains. A full day is spent at this world-famous facility before departing for Pretoria where this memorable journey ends.

Day 1: Pretoria, Gauteng, South AfricaYou depart Rovos Rail's private station, Capital Park in Pretoria approximately at 10am and arrive at the Waterval Onder at 6:30pm. Guests will enjoy lunch, dinner and overnight on the train. |
Day 2: Malelane, Mpumalanga, South AfricaAt 10am Guests can enjoy 18 holes of golf at Leopard Creek in Malelane. Non-golfers will go for a game drive in the Kruger Park followed by shopping and lunch at Casterbridge near White River. At 6 in the evening the train departs for Swaziland. |
Day 3: SwazilandApproximately at 9am guests will tee-off at Royal Swazi Golf Club near Manzini. Non-Golfers visit Game Drive Mlilwane Game Reserve, followed by a visit to Houses of Parliament and the Swazi candle factory. |
Day 4: KwaZulua Natal, South AfricaAt 6am you go for a Game drive in Hluhluwe Game Reserve and at 4 in the afternoon enjoy a cruise on St Lucia Lake. |
Day 5: Durban, KwaZulu Natal, South AfricaAt 9am guests will tee-off at Durban Country Club. Non-Golfers go on a Durban City tour followed by lunch at the Golf Club. |
Day 6: Drakensberg, KwaZulu Natal, South AfricaAt 9am guests will tee-off at Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg. Non-Golfers walk at Champagne Castle or enjoy a professional tour of the Battlefields near Ladysmith. |
Day 7: Ladysmith, KwaZulu Natal, South AfricaAt 7am you depart for Ladysmith and the day is at your leisure on the train. |
Day 8: Pilanesberg, North West Province, South AfricaAt 9am guests will tee-off at the Gary Player Country Club, Sun City. Non-Golfers explore Sun City. All guests will be served lunch at the club. At 4:30pm you will go on a game drive in Pilansberg Game Reserve. |
Day 9: Pretoria, Gauteng, South AfricaAt 7am you depart at Rustenberg and you arrive at approximately 10am in Capital Park Station, Pretoria. |
