Paarl Golf Club Paal Golf Club is located in Wemmershoek Road, Paarl. On the Wine Route with many famous estates in and near the picturesque town in addition to the giant KWV, controlling body and umbrella co-operative of the Cape wine industry. Paarl, unlike many of the courses in and around Cape Town, is sheltered from the wind. From the pedestal tee at the 165m (541.3 feet) par-3 6th hole, there is a beautiful view of the Berg River with vineyards close by and the mountains in the distance.
The course itself is flat and noted for its magnificent old trees, which line the fairways. There is one huge Oak Tree right in the middle of the fairway at the par-five 16th hole. A big hitter can clear the top of this tree, but mere mortals are required to work the ball, courtesy of a controlled hook, around the side of it. Paarl Golf Club is a par-74, which is unusual. It has no less than 6 par-five's, affording the golfer plenty of scoring opportunities. Rondebosch Golf Club Rondebosch Golf Club is located in off Klipfontein Road, Rondebosch East. Visitors are most welcome at this magnificent 18 hole champion course. The latest South African PGA Tour venue lies just 15 minutes from central Cape Town. Rondabosh Golf Club compromises pro golf shops, restaurant, bar and function facilities. It is open daily from 07h30am till late. Closed Easter Friday and Christmas Day.
Steenberg Golf Club Steenberg Golf Club's first 6 holes of the course meander through gentle, manicured parkland where, in some instances, tee shots will be played off raised tee boxes amongst the vines. The course then moves into the wetlands, which includes the testing par-three 7th hole played to a green surrounded by water.
It then enters the Heathland section where white sands 'islanding' the fairways are a natural hazard. The round is completed under the splendour of stately Oaks. This Western Cape golf course has been designed to take full advantage of natural features and hazards. The fairways are moulded and shaped into gentle slopes reflecting the natural flow and fall of the ground. The greens are surrounded by broad aprons of bent grass, encouraging players to play the almost forgotten 'chip and run' approach. There are also a number of practice areas, including a driving range, chipping area with sand traps and a large putting green.
